Program

The two-day international conference will be divided into sessions/panels dealing with the Smart agriculture and Smart technologies both on regulatory and technical aspects.  Several topics will be discussed on the occasion as follows:

-Panel 1 : Ministerial Panel / High level panel : Arab Food Safety/Security : Challenges and horizons
-Panel 2 : How would the new technological trends change the future of the Agriculture ?
-Panel 3 : Arab “Smart Agriculture” initiatives towards achieving the SD Goals 2030
-Panel 4 : Sustainable investment in Smart Agriculture for food security
-Panel 5 : The role of technology in achieving water security for food security
-Panel 6 : Global trends for food security and sustainable agricultural development: the key role of agricultural technology

Eminent regional and international experts from the public and private sectors will animate the different panels of the forum and will share with a high-level audience their knowledge, experiences and recent findings about the opportunities and challenges of IoT based-technology and other technological trends for sustainable agricultural development and their visions for the way forward.

International Exhibition on New Technology trends & IoT Solutions for smart Agriculture and smart farming

The aim of the this international Exhibition is to gather the main actors and providers of Technological solutions and IoT in the Arab region and from the rest of the World (Europe, Asia, USA,…) to showcase their cutting-age solutions in favor of sustainable agricultural development and climate change mitigation. This exhibition is, as well, open to farmers from the Arab region being adopted the technological solutions in their scope of action, to showcase their agricultural products.

The Arab Regional Smart Agriculture Forum (ARSAF©) will be held in Doha Exhibition & Convention Center – State of Qatar.

Mr. Ben Amor holds a Master diploma in International Project Management from the ``Conservatoire National d'Arts et des Métiers``, CNAM - Paris (France), and a Diploma of Engineer from the Naval Academy, AN (Tunisia).Mr. BEN AMOR has over 25 years of experience, specializing in the use and evolution of information and communication technologies for development, as well as in analytical, policy, management and coordination functions at national, regional and International level.Mr. Ben Amor, before being elected SG of AICTO in 2015, has occupied between 2011- 2015 the post of Special Advisor to the Minister of Industry and Technologies, to the Minister of Information and Communication Technologies and to the Minister of Higher Education Scientific Research an ICT. He was General Director of the tunisian Telecommunications Research and Studies Center (2009 – 2010).Mr Ben Amor is an expert to many international institutions (World Bank, African Development Bank, UN Economic Commission for Western Asia ESCWA, etc.) and in this capacity has led several international projects

Work Experience: Since May 2017 and onward he is the director general of Arab Organization for Agricultural Development, April 2017, Federal Minister of Agriculture and Forestry. December 2012 to June 2015, Director General of the Agricultural Research Corporation (ARC). June 2010 to December 2012, Minister of Agriculture and Forests, South Darfur State of Sudan. May 2006 to May 2010,Research Scientist at the Center for Economic Studies and Policy Analysis of the ARC. July 2002 to April 2006,Food Security Advisor and Project Manager for Kordofan Food Security Project, funded by the EU .November 2001 to July 2002,National VAM Officer with the World Food Programme (WFP), attached to the Vulnerability Analysis and Mapping Unit. Tunisian born, Dr. Bilel Jamoussi is Chief of the Study Groups Department of ITU Standardization Bureau in Geneva Switzerland. Since 2010, he has been leading the bureau’s standards making activities into a new era characterized by rapid convergence and the need for increased collaboration with vertical sectors and partnership between developed and developing countries. Prior to 2010, Jamoussi worked for a Telecommunication equipment and solutions provider for 15 years in Canada and then in the United States where he held several leadership positions and was granted 22 US patents in diverse areas including packet, optical, wireless, and quality of service. He holds a BSc, MSc and PhD degrees in Computer Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University, USA. He is fluent in Arabic, French, and English and speaks some Spanish and German.
